Our Story

Edgewater Homes is a collaboration of the talents of brother and sister team Brad Smith and Trisha Bowley. Both are Florida natives and were raised in the quaint Gulf coast town of Englewood. Brad graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Art. Trisha graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Psychology and returned to school at a technical college for interior design.

After graduating from college, Brad moved back to Englewood and began working for G. Patrick Bourgeois & Associates Inc., a local General Contractor with over 40 years of building experience. Pat served as his mentor and taught him everything he knows about the construction industry. Trisha enjoyed a fulfilling career in Orlando working for an Interior Design firm specializing in model merchandising, and traveled extensively setting up model homes for builders all over the country.

In 2004 Brad and Pat enlisted the design help of Trisha while building a large commercial office building in Englewood for a family member. This collaboration led to the formation of Edgewater Homes. Trisha moved her family back to Englewood and the rest is history! Although our model home is conveniently located in Rotonda West, we can build anywhere in both Sarasota and Charlotte Counties. If you don't already own your land, we can assist you in finding just the right home site in one of the many neighborhoods in the area.
